CAC started out as “Craic Agus Ceol” in 2012 as a group of musicians putting together some Irish tunes for a St. Patrick’s Day event in Greenwich, NY. After that, a few line-up changes, and Craic Agus Ceol was off and running, playing venues from the Catskills of NY to the ski resorts of Vermont, and numerous venues and festivals in New Yorks Capital District-Saratoga region. Our original name,“Craic Agus Ceol”, is Irish Gaelic for “fun and music”, and that’s exactly what CAC brings to the stage. As time went on, Craic Agus Ceol branched out into other genres of music. With the addition of genres outside the Irish/Celtic tradition, Craic Agus Ceol shortened their name to “CAC”... a name easier to remember as well. We are, at the core, still an Irish band and love playing those toe-tapping Celtic folk and rock songs in Irish pubs, festivals, and for any Irish themed event. But we’re a party band too, playing tunes from The Eagles, Old Crow Medicine Show, Steve Earle, John Prine, R.E.M., The Highwaymen, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney... you get the picture; we’re all over the map. If you want a trop rock night, we can do that. Need dance music, we can do that too. And of course we continue to rock Irish venues with our Irish tunes. You’ll hear lead instrumentals on penny whistle, mandolin, and rockin’ electric guitar. We’re known for our shared vocal leads, tight harmonization and solid instrumental mixes and leads including guitar, banjo, mandolin, penny whistle, and bodhran. To sum it up, CAC delivers a varied and engaging performance, and can tailor their act to your needs. CAC is available to play in eastern New York and western New England. From toe tapping Irish pub songs to trop rock, CAC’s music will delight any audience.
