Northern Borne LIVE

Northern Borne Originating in the Adirondacks and currently hailing from Washington County, Northern Borne is a duo comprised of Sarah Babushkin (mandolin, guitar, lead vocals) and John Wensley (banjo, dobro). Northern Borne is an eclectic mix of bluegrass and folk with a hint of jam band and blues thrown in for an old-timey groove sound. Originals are derived from local experiences and often have a storytelling feel, while classic songs take an edgy twist. Sarah’s soulful voice and hard pounding rhythm playing mixed with John’s sometimes melodic, sometimes bluesy, sometimes Bluegrass banjo style makes this duo’s sound both unique and intriguing. Their music can drive down the track like a train or take you on a trip back in time.

Moose Crossing LIVE

Zak Hampton on tenor sax, Tim Duch on piano, and Justin Burgess on the bass: Whether they're keeping the party going with a touch of class at a private event, or entertaining the local community in establishments on Main Streets across the state of Vermont,

MOOSE CROSSING is the go-to group for the jazz connoisseur looking for youthful takes on classics from Duke Ellington and Frank Sinatra, to Miles Davis and John Coltrane, to hard driving funk tunes from Josef Zawinul and Herbie Hancock. Strangled Darlings LIVE on Valentine's Day (or Single's Awareness Day)

All you need is love….and beer….and tacos….and chocolate stout cupcakes..and live music with the Strangled Darlings! Come celebrate being single, or coupled, or just happy! We’ll have games and prizes for this glorious day of love!

Jess and George met at party in 2009, with their spontaneous duet of the Prince song, "Pussy Control". Soon after that they formed a band around a principle of originality and ruthless editing of their work. The name of the band draws inspiration from southern author William Faulkner who would tell his writing students that 'sometimes in writing you must strangle your darlings'.

Jess is a trained classical violinist but picked up cello and discovered that she was actually a bass player. George found his degree in English Lit pays better as an indie musician and so learned the mandolin. They have written and toured as a full band but once they decided to tour the US full time and in a 20 foot RV, there was only enough extra room for the little dog.

The music is built on deep sense of rhythm and groove, carried by George on mandolin and Jess on custom tenor bass & foot drums. His mandolin bursts out in a slalom of notes and snare drum rhythms. Her solid body custom tenor bass weaves an intricate counter melody and her feet pound a percussive groove. The voices and the lyrics are the hidden third member of the band and the story behind the music. The songs work with nontraditional subjects for inspiration. Some song subjects include: the works of great authors (Faulkner, William Blake, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Donald Bartheleme, Anna Ahkmatova) as well as witchcraft in the Civil War, the morality of Somali piracy and the media impact of Neil Armstrong.

Strangled Darlings have released 3 full length albums and one EP, receiving critical praise from local and national press alike. In between touring, they live in Vermont on a mountain orchard overrun by bears.

Like to think outside the box? We'll make up a category just for you! Speaking of boxes, we found a box of old pool league plaques in the back room and our crafty elves are busy working their magic and turning them into unique Ugly Sweater Contest Wall Trophies. They're the perfect accompaniment to our tackily crafted Winner's Mitten Medallions! Oh yes we'll have other prizes too...gift cards to local businesses...but it's really about bragging rights. And being huddled in an old undertaker's-building-turned-brewery, rubbing elbows as you raise a pint together...and laughing as you unhook your sweater's tinsel from the jingle balls of your new friend's ugly Reindeer vest. All the while surrounded by a group of the tackiest craft brew, wine, or cider fanatics decked out in all their winter glory in this little border town we call home.

CHECK OUT SIRSY!
++ MUSIC: http://www.sirsy.com/listen
++ VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx6RJZMelds

SIRSY is a ROCK & SOUL DUO with lots of pop sensibility & just the right amount of sass! Fronted by charistmatic lead singer, Melanie who is also the band's drummer and plays a full kit standing up. Melanie plays bass parts on a keyboard with her drum stick and even throws in some mean flute solos. Rich Libutti plays a road worn and well loved Rickenbacker through a pedal board full of vintage effects. He also pays bass with his feet and tells super nerdy Star Wars jokes. SIRSY is known for passionate performances that often include lots of stories from the road, laughs, and dance parties. It's a good time! :) SIRSY plays 250+ shows per year nationally & has played with Grace Potter, Maroon 5, Cheap Trick, Train, and many more. Their music is featured on Showtime’s hit TV show “Shameless”

“The little band with the big sound.” – The Boston Globe

"SIRSY is NOT simply a two piece, they are a head scratching, WOW!..This is the complete package in a fun sized, rock and roll, smiling laughing, have a good goddamn time with your friends, band!” – SXSW Music Blog

“Highly talented, “edgy-feel-good”, and fun to watch... you gotta go see them.” – Houston Music Scene Blog

“Melanie Krahmer has one of the most powerful and flexible voices you will ever hear.” –Times Union, NY

“The guitar player is flawless and raw- clean enough to be enjoyed but edgy enough to make your grin. The lead singer/drummer is stunning” –SXSW Music Blog
